Apple Crisp

This is the best apple crisp recipe I have ever tried. I found it somewhere on the internet. It is good plain, or with ice-cream of whipped cream.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

    Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. 2
    Put apples, sugars, and cinnamon in a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
  3. 3
    Stir to combine.
  4. 4
    Let sit about 20 minutes until some juice is released from the apples.
  5. 5
    Combine flour, oatmeal and sugars.
  6. 6
    Mix in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. 7
    Pour melted 2 tbsp butter over apple mixture in the casserole.
  8. 8
    Sprinkle with topping mixture.
  9. 9
    Bake 30-40 minutes until topping is golden and filling is bubbling.

    Serve warm or at room temperature.

I used this recipe last night for a dinner party and it was DELISH! The apples have the perfect blend of tart and sweet, while the crisp topping has a melody of flavours that hits your tongue multiple times in each bite. The buttery flavours and aromas are what make this dessert truly decadent!

    Absolutely fantastic. Several people asked for the recipe when I brought it to a party. One hint: even though it may look like it is not getting "crisp", the dessert actually gets crisp when it cools. So take it out of the oven when it is golden brown.

    This is the third time I have made this recipe, I just had to tell you that in my opinion I believe this has got to be one of the best crisp recipes that I have tryed. It never fails me, always the perfect texture never too runny. The taste is out of this world, it must be the brown sugar with the melted butter. I mixed the apples with frozen blueberries, and it came out delicious..as usual. Thank you mae east for posting such a 5 star recipe...i will make it again and again!
