Low Fat Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

I am now actually "watching" my diet, and in the process am trying to make my favorites in a "low fat" manner. I took my favorite muffin recipes and combined them, made some adjustments and came up with this great recipe. Hope you enjoy them!

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Add sugar to mashed bananas and mix.
  2. 2
    Add beaten egg and mix.
  3. 3
    In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients.
  4. 4
    Add dry ingredients to the banana mixture and mix well.
  5. 5
    Mix in applesauce.
  6. 6
    Add chocolate chips and Stir.
  7. 7
    Spoon into medium size muffin tin (I use paper muffin cups so they won't stick) and fill 3/4's full.

    Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350.

    Enjoy!

These are delicious! They are suprisingly light. I made mini muffins and added a little bit of vanilla and cinnamon. Thanks!

    Delicious and Nutritious, these are going to be a definite replacement to my usual Banana choc, chip muffin recipe, and i dont think I will be compromising on taste or texture at all !! I added in a bit of Cinn. and vanilla. YUMM and thanks again for a great recipe

    Oh, my gosh! I am eating one of these warm out of the oven right now, and it is HEAVENLY! They are super-moist, and certainly don't taste low-fat at all. I used whole-wheat flour and Splenda instead of sugar, and they came out delightful. I really wanted a healthy banana muffin recipe, as I had three over-ripe bananas to use, but I decided I also wanted oats in them. Thus, when I happened upon this recipe, I was delighted. They're exactly what I was looking for, and made a great dessert! Thank you.

    I really enjoyed these muffins the first time I made them - so I decided to make them again! They're really tasty, healthy, quick to prepare and contain chocolate! Thank you for this great muffin recipe!
