Blueberry Apple Crisp

Serve this with vanilla ice cream!!

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Combine the blueberries and the apples in a bowl and sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon of the flour; toss.
  2. 2
    Spoon into 6 custard cups.
  3. 3
    Combine the remaining flour and sugar in a bowl; cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly and resembles coarse meal.
  4. 4
    Add oats, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. 5
    Sprinkle flour mixture over the fruit.
  6. 6
    Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes or until bubbly.
  7. 7
    Let stand for 10 minutes.
  8. 8
    Serve warm.

For being lower in fat, this was quite nice. I added some extra cinnamon and some cloves and doubled the topping. Thanks for posting!

    Awesome!!! Loved the combination of apples and berries - I also added a few frozen raspberries and blackberries, as well as maple syrup to the crisp part. For ZWT4 Flying Duchess'

    Well, considering this has almost no fat and still tasted decadent, I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I cooked mine in one large dish rather than the custard cups and it came out just fine that way. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough topping - next time I might add double the amount as I prefer more - but then it wouldn't be as lowfat,which is kind of defeating the purpose. If you are looking for a tasty, yet lowfat treat that is easy to prepare, this is a great choice. Very tasty, thanks!

    We LOVED it! Apple crumble is our favourite dessert! I used Granny Smith apples and frozen blueberries and they were a nice addition to it. I made it in a large baking dish instead of small ramekins and we being 'crumble' lovers, I doubled the topping amount and added in a tad bit more of sugar and a small amount of chopped almonds. I had mine with vanilla ice cream and DH had his with lashings of custard! Thank you, Kim127, for sharing this wonderful recipe!
