One of my sons could not get past the Monte Cristo sandwich at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland. I made this casserole for him and he loved it. I hope you do to.

Oh My Gosh!! The whole family ate it-- all of them!! I knew my husband liked Monte Cristo Sandwich from Bennigans- and the kids liked this casserole. Next time I might just mix it all together in a big bowl instead of layering. I put a light layer of additional swiss cheese on top for the last 15 minutes of cooking. I also used cinnamon french toast, because it was on sale. Thanks!!!!

Made this for my sons 13th birthday dinner. We all pigged out on this! One of my five gremlins hates almost all food but he actually ate this and liked it. Though I think it tortured him to admit it. I didn't follow the directions of course but it turned out perfect. I made my own french toast and set it aside to cool. Then fried the ham slices and turkey slices until there was a good scald on em'; then I diced them and set aside to cool. I mixed up cold milk, 1 T. dried parsley and eggs in a bowl and set it aside. Buttered the bottom of a huge casserole dish, layered whole slices of cooled french toast, the diced meat, then used slices of swiss cheese instead of diced. Layered again with the french toast, meat, cheese slices, then I poured the egg/milk mixture over the whole thing, covered it with foil and let it sit in the fridge all day. Cooked it covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for another 10. Took out and let set for 10 min then served individual servings topped with the sliced berries and homemade whipping cream sweetened with sugar and vanilla. Thanks for submitting this recipe. It was truly scrumptious!
