Don't make me a liar...try this oversized tart and rave like everyone else who's tried this fabulous dessert.

1 tart (change servings and units)

Ingredients

assorted fruit

Directions

  1. 1
    Heat oven to 300°F.
  2. 2
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3
    Blend in flour.
  4. 4
Press the mixture onto the bottom and up the side of a 12 inch round pizza pan.
  5. 5
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until just lightly brown.
  6. 6
    Cool completely.
  7. 7
Carefully melt the vanilla or white chocolate chips and the cream either carefully on the stove on very low, stirring constantly, or in the microwave.
  8. 8
    Beat in the cream cheese.
  9. 9
When crust is cool, pour on the melted chocolate/cheese mixture, spreading evenly.
  10. 10
Cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve--at least 3 hours.
  11. 11
Slice the fruit of your choice and place on the tart in an attractive manner.
  12. 12
This is best eaten the same day it's made.
  13. 13
But there won't be any leftovers anyway.

This was awesome! I accidentally used regular sugar instead of the powdered sugar and it still turned out great. Next time I will make it with the powdered sugar, I am sure it will be great! I have many requests for the recipe.

What I loved the most about this recipe is how elegant it seems without hardly any work. This is a delicious, no fuss, but company worthy tart! I followed the recipe exactly except used a 12 inch tart pan instead of the pizza pan. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!

Made this for dessert on Christmas day and it was loved by all. The pastry was the easiest I've ever prepared, and the finished dish tasted great. I used strawberries, mango, seedless sultana grapes and Kiwi fruit, and glazed the fruit with some melted apricot jam. Thanks for posting Geema!

We loved it. Just to let you know, I had to use a 9.5" tart pan and it turned out fine, just had to bake a bit longer, of course.
