Sour Cream Biscuits

Tasty sour cream biscuits for those of us who don't happen to have Bisquik on hand...

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Heat oven to 450.
  2. 2
    Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
  3. 3
    Cut in crisco until small crumbs form.
  4. 4
    Add sour cream and stir only until entire mixture is moistened.
  5. 5
    Turn onto floured surface, grease hands, and knead about 10 times.
  6. 6
    Drop onto ungreased baking sheet in 1 1/2 inch diameter, 3/4 inch thick mounds.

    Bake 10-12 minutes.

These biscuits are so light & tender! I'm just not used to the tang from the sour cream. I didn't bother to knead the dough. I got 15 large drop biscuits out of one batch.

    Good biscuits. These didn't work out well for rolled out biscuts for me but rather are much better as drop biscuts as directed in the recipe.

    Excellent biscuit recipe! I substituted real butter for the Crisco and the biscuits turned flavorful, light, and moist. Absolutely terrific!
