My family loved this cake!! We couldn't stop eating it. The only thing I changed was using 1 teaspoon of mixed spices and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. My brother isn't a big fan of cinnamon. Frosted it with Astoria Frosting by mermaidmagic (#100230). This I'm sure will be requested often, thank you!

Very moist and tasty, and the spices go so well with the chocolate flavor! I dusted the cake with icing sugar, and served it with English pouring custard! YUM! The pan size isn't specified, so I used a 9" round baking pan (well greased), which was just the right size for the amount of batter. This cake is very moist and rich, so no frosting is necessary. Great recipe, Clairen!
