Love this recipe. I did change it just a little. I thought I had a beer to put in this but didn't. I ended up using all beef broth. I also used 2 heads of roasted garlic. Delish. My family especially my son loved this dish. We served this over buttered noodles. This dish had a very mild sweet taste. I don't know if it's the sugar plus the onions. Next time I am going to cut down the brown sugar and see what happens. This dish was so easy to prepare. It's a keeper!!

Overall we thought this was very good for a crock pot recipe. I made it the night before but left out the beer until the next morning when I was ready to plug the machine in. I did use a whole bottle of beer. We also ended up adding a few splashes of hot sauce at the end just to spice it up a little. I think we'll make this again, it was definitely different that the every day, run of the mill, crock pot recipes. Thanks for sharing it.

Outstanding as usual, Sue L. I will confess, I was a little freaked out with all that garlic but I put it in and it turned out just fine. There flavor of the gravy was magnifico and I used it to go over mashed potatoes. The beef was fork tender and so delicious. This one ranks as one of the best. Thanks Sue L.

I cooked the roast in the oven. I didn't have cider vinegar so I used red wine vinegar. I read all the reviews before making it and I was a little scared to add the dijon mustard but I did and the gravy tasted delicious with lots of sliced onion in it.Next time I will double the amount of onions
