Good stuff! I've lived in Texas and have been to Louisiana on a few occasions and it tastes just like stuff you can get there! Thanks for sharing a wonderful recipe!!

I used 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts instead, added a few jalapeno peppers, mild and hot smoked sausage - it was fantastic. My first time ever making a roux or gumbo, this recipe really helped me figure out how to do it. I will be adding some good cayenne pepper next time since this wasn't that spicy.

Wow!! This is the first time that I have ever tasted gumbo, let alone made it. I will be making it over and over again. The recipe was not hard to make at all, just time consuming to make the roux, but well worth waiting for.
