This is a big hit with everyone in my family! My brother beggs me to come over and make it for him often. It is very filling and the leftovers heat up well wrapped in tin foil and heated in the oven.

SERVES 4 -6 , 2 half size loafs (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cut loaf of bread in half, lenghtwise and hollow it out, (save the crumbs).
  2. 2
    Brown hamburger and drain.
  3. 3
Mix all ingredients except cheese slices in a LARGE frying pan.
  4. 4
    Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. 5
Stir in bread crumbs and fill shell with mixture.
  6. 6
Cut cheese slices in half to make triangles and put on top.
  7. 7
Bake for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees to melt cheese.

Tried this today using my homemade french bread. DH loved it and two of my three little ones liked it. The other one would have if she hadn't seen the tomatoes in it! Great recipe. The only change I made was to use just half a can of Rotel. DH says this is a keeper!!!

We all enjoyed this recipe, but the kids really seemed to go crazy over it. It would be very easy to change it to suit your taste but we enjoyed it as posted.
