Frugal Gourmet's Polish Noodles and Cabbage

Recipe #38642 | 40 min | 20 min prep | add private note

By: Laudee
Aug 27, 2002

This recipe is from The Frugal Gourmet on our Immigrant Ancestors cookbook. It's a great Polish comfort food, easy to mix and serve and easy on the pocketbook. I like to add sliced Kielbasa to mix when done and add a tossed salad and good hard-crust bread.

What a blast from the past from the Frugal Gourmet. We love this in our house--and it's an easy dinner for rushed nights. You wouldn't happen to have his stuffed zucchini recipe by any chance?

Good recipe but bland. I would saute onion in bits of bacon and also add little bits of ham at the end to make it more flavorful. But...we like it a lot.

Absolutely delish! I don't like caraway at all so used 1 tsp cumin powder. I doubled recipe and my family of four devoured it. Will definitely repeat this dish.

I'm not Polish, but this recipe hits the spot! Didn't know what to fix for supper and had all the ingredients, so in 45 minutes supper was on the table and we both loved it. I used fatfree sour cream and 1 Tbsp butter and 3 Tbsps olive oil and it was very good. We loved the taste. Thanks, Carole in Orlando
