Recipe #34521 | 27 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Laudee
Jul 17, 2002

A friend of mine brought these cookies to a square dance several years ago and was nice enough to write out the recipe for me. I have no idea where she got it, but, I've made them for years and they are just so tasty.

60 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix ALL ingredients together, thoroughly.
  2. 2
I like to mix this in my Kitchen Aide Mixer.
  3. 3
Drop by rounded Tbsp onto greased cookie sheets.
  4. 4
These cookies rise as opposed to spreading out.
  5. 5
    Bake in a pre-heated 400 degree oven, 12-15 minutes.
  6. 6
Remove to wire rack to cool.
  7. 7
    Enjoy!

I had to halve the recipe too, or I would have eaten them all! This recipe is unusually good. I loved the chocolate, of course, but the cinnamon and cloves were a must. All worked together for a great taste. Laudee, thanks for sharing your recipe. These cookies deserve 5 stars!

Oh MizzLaudee...another one of your winners...made these cookies today (Sunday), my son came over, and, well away they went, DH and my self were left with only a few to enjoy...I cut the cloves down to half, and added a little more cinnamon...didn't change anything else, baked them in my convection oven at 325 degrees, they turned out so delicious and chewy, just the perfect texture...I will be making these again very soon laudee...thanks for posting a wonderful cookie recipe...KC

Oatmeal and chocolate chips just go together naturally. I cut the recipe in half and still got a heap of cookies. These are so darn good they can stand alone as dessert!! Next time I'll add extra cinnamon though. Thanks Laudee C.

These were great. Thanks for all the tips everyone. I halved the recipe and added an extra handful of choco chips and a tad more cinnamon. Also, I had everything in the bowl and realized I didn't have any cloves. Substituted all-spice instead and they turned out fantastic.
