This was very quick and easy to throw together and tasted great! I used light sour cream and served with potato chips.

This dip was a BIG HIT at the family get-together that I served it at. Everyone loved it and the whole bowl was gone in no time. I bought both ruffled potatoe chips and Ranch Doritos to serve with with it, and they both tasted great, but I think the potatoe chips tasted the best with it. I was concerned that it might be a bit too salty, as one reviewer mentioned, so I used only half the Bacon Bits. I used the entire packet of Ranch Dressing, and it turned out great, but I may try it with only half the packet next time, since the chips have a great deal of salt, as well. It was so fast and easy to put together, and tasted fabulous - this dip may just be my new potluck /party staple!

I have made this recipe several times, and always get great reviews. No one complains about too much salt. The only difference is that I always use real fried bacon in the recipe. I usually add more than the 1/4 cup, but it never seems overly salty, when the bacon is fried and crumpled, and not out of a bottle or pouch.
