Crisscross Apple Crowns(Pampered Chef Copycat)

These are so good, you will want them often! Can be breakfast or dessert! Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream for comfort food heaven! Adapted from The Pampered Chef All The Best Cookbook.

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

    Preheat oven to 350*F.
  2. 2
    Peel, core and slice apples. Cut apple slices into wedges. Chop walnuts.
  3. 3
    Place apples, walnuts, raisins, flour, 1/4 cup of the sugar and 1 teaspoons of the cinnamon in a bowl. Mix well.

    Microwave apple mixture on high 3 minutes or until hot; mix well.
  5. 5
    Separate 12 biscuits. You may discard the remaining or set aside for another use. Using a rolling pin(or round glass jar), roll each biscuit into a 5" circle.

    Combine remaining sugar and remaining cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle the sugar/cinnamon mix evenly over the biscuits. Divide apple mixture evenly onto center of each biscuit.

    Gather up the edges over the filling, pinching lightly to seal.

    Melt butter in microwave on high 20 seconds, or until melted.

    Holding filled biscuits at the sealed end, dip each biscuit into butter, then into remaining cinnamon/sugar mixute in bowl.

    Place the biscuits, seam side down, into a muffin pan. Cut an X pattern (crisscross)through the top of each biscuit.

    Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

    Remove from pan. Serve with icre cream if you would like! Enjoy!

Sharon these are FABULOUS! The only little changes I made were to use dried cranberries in place of the raisins as that is preferred by my family (strange they don't like raisins by like craisins LOL) and used chopped almonds in place of the walnuts. These turned out PERFECT little desserts for our family of 4. I served with a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt!! I did reduce the quantity to match that and it reduced easily! Made for your win in Tic-Tac-Toe Week #1 in the SCC.

    Yummy breakfast! We gobbled them up. I used homemade whole wheat biscuits to wrap the apple mixture with and omitted the nuts for dd. Thank you for sharing a wonderful recipe!
