" Whatever Floats Your Boat" Brownies!

Recipe #32204 | 35 min | 10 min prep | SERVES 16 (Change Servings)

RECIPE BY: Karen=^..^=

These are absolutely the chewiest, moistest, fudgiest brownies ever! I have tried adding so many different things to the batter, and they ALWAYS comes out great. They are also great without ANY add-ins! BUT by varying the add-ins, you can make different brownies every week (or day!!) SUPER EASY PREP! So, add "whatever floats your boat" and you will not believe how yummy they come out Oh, and the recipe doubles just fine--use a 9 x 13 inch pan instead and add a few more minutes of baking!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT

    Directions

    1. 1
      Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. 2
Grease an 8 inch square pan or line with foil.
    3. 3
In a medium bowl combine melted butter and cocoa and stir until cocoa is dissolved.
    4. 4
      Add sugar and mix well.
    5. 5
Add eggs one at a time and stir until well combined.
    6. 6
Stir in vanilla, flour and salt until you no longer see any flour (do not overmix).
    7. 7
Fold in "WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT"!
    8. 8
Spread in pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes.
    9. 9
DO NOT OVER-BAKE -- your brownies will come out dry. Adjust time/temp accordingly for your oven. If you do the knife/toothpick test, it should come out with moist crumbs, not clean.
    10. 10
Cool completely before cutting into squares.
    11. 11
      For vegetarian omit the marshmallows.
    12. 12
For double recipe, bake in 9x12 pan and add 5 minutes to baking time.

DD made these - they were easy and delicious! No add ins, but that is the way she likes them! DD is really the brownie lover in the house, but I will definitely use this recipe, too, and maybe add some mini marshmallows and I also like the cheesecake swirl-in idea! Thank you!

These brownies are AMAZING!! They were so moist and perfect, i got loads of compliments on them! I actually added a CHEESECAKE to them- 8 oz of cream cheese, 1 egg and 1/2 c sugar. I put it on top and swirled it in. +A!! Thanks!

Oh,,boy! Our new "favorite brownie" recipe!! It sounded so good I knew with the grandkids here I'd better make a double batch...glad I did! Followed the recipe exactly and my add in's were Reese's Peanut butter chips and mini-marshmellows. This is really soooooooo good, a chocoholic's dream!! I actually hid the pan so they wouldn't eat them all! I used a 9 x 13" pan for the double batch and it took about 5 min. longer to bake. Very moist and chewy. Thanks so much Karen,,this is a real keeper Kitty
