When summer's bountiful harvest is here, I look for ways to prepare the freshest vegetables in a flavorful way that does not overpower their natural taste. This is a good way to enhance the flavor of delectable, fresh green beans.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Steam beans until tender, about 10 minutes; keep warm.
  2. 2
Heat oil in large skillet over low heat. Add onion and garlic and saute slowly until translucent, about 8 minutes.
  3. 3
Transfer beans to serving dish. Add onion mixture and remaining ingredients. Toss well. Serve immediately.

This was a wonderful recipe to perk up green beans. I did use canned cut green beans. I had bought the shredded parmesan cheese, but asked DD to add the 6 tablespoons of the cheese and she used the grated/canned kind. This didn't melt well, but it still tasted delicious, despite not looking as appealling. Made for potluck tag. Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

Absolutley perfect - a perfect recipe for fresh green beans - with beautiful subtle flavourings as not to overpower them! I did not change one thing, and we enjoyed these last night when I served them to friends who came for dinner; I served them with a baked chicken dish, fresh steamed baby potatoes and mashed potatoes! This is a keeper for me, many thanks Jackie! Made for Holiday Tag Game - no photos as they were served for a meal for company, sorry! I could not squeeze in a shot before serving them! LOL! FT
