Lennie

Licks was first established in the Toronto neighbourhood I live in, back in the late 70s. I remember the first store, with its 2 booths. They now have numerous locations. This is their "secret sauce", which was published in a Canadian magazine back in 1984. So, it's not so secret when you have the recipe!

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Directions

  1. 1
Whisk all ingredients together; add more cream if you think it's too thick for your tastes.

I have made this sauce a few times now. And have decided I like a 1/4tsp of onion and garlic powder and mustard and celery seed and only 1 tblsp of half n half.Ive used this recipe for ham sandwiches as well as burgers. Very nice change from the usual ketcup and mustard.I plan on using it alot. Thank U for this recipe..

Lennie--we loved this sauce! How easy is it to make--everything in it is usually right on hand. I whipped it up in seconds, and we had it on grilled burgers with sliced tomato, and it was fabulous! A nice change of pace from regular old ketchup. Thanks for a simple recipe that will become a regular!
