Semi-Homemade Gourmet Pizza

Recipe #317645 | 35 min | 20 min prep | add private note

By: Concoctionista
Aug 5, 2008

I made this for my husband on our recipe night. I was afraid it would be too "gourmet" for his meat & potatoes tastebuds, but he actually really enjoyed it. I loved it too. It's a keeper!

SERVES 4 , 1 small pizza (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Crust

Toppings

Directions

  1. 1
Spread out pillsbury pizza crust & flatten as much as you can. They tend to rise quite a bit.
  2. 2
Spread both sides with olive oil.
  3. 3
Sprinkle both sides generously with italian or pizza seasoning.
  4. 4
Bake at 350 for 12 minutes and remove from oven.
  5. 5
While baking crust, begin preparing ingredients. Chop and saute sausage until browned.
  6. 6
Remove from pan & spoon into separate bowl.
  7. 7
Add onion, basil, mushrooms and tomato slices into saute pan and add dash of olive oil (my husband didn't care for the tomatoes, but they were easily removed after cooking).
  8. 8
Cook veggies until onions are translucent and remove from heat.
  9. 9
Flip crust over so that crusty side is facing up and spoon sauce onto crust.
  10. 10
Sprinkle sausage and veggie mixture over sauce.
  11. 11
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly onto pizza and top with colby jack cheese.
  12. 12
Bake pizza at 350 for 15 minutes.
  13. 13
Cool for a few minutes and slice into 8 pieces.
