Great for Super Bowl parties, work parties, other gatherings! Pretty easy to make...you can use store bought guacamole if you can't find ripe avocados.

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix avocados, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix.
  3. 3
    Layer ingredients as follows.
  4. 4
    Bottom layer: Bean Dip.
  5. 5
    Second layer: Avocado mixture.
  6. 6
    Third layer: Sour cream mixture.
  7. 7
    Fourth layer: Tomatoes.
  8. 8
    Fifth layer: Onions.
  9. 9
    Sixth layer: Olives.
  10. 10
Seventh layer: Cheese (I like to use Colby Jack cheese).
  11. 11
Top with extra sour cream/olives/salsa, etc. if desired.
  12. 12
    Serve with tortilla chips.
  13. 13
**This seems to be a little bit better if you can chill it for a few hours or over night to let the flavors intensify**.

I made this for "appetizer" night for my family and friends. I tweaked it a little because my husband was complaining that it had no meat in it like the stuff he normally has. So, I mixed the taco seasoning mix with hamburger for an extra layer and I also put it in the oven for about 15 mins because we like warm bean dip with nice melty cheese.MMMMMMMMM!!!!! Thanks for the recipe!!!

Yum! Mixed each layer in order in bowl, layered, rinsed bowl, mixed next layer, etc so only one bowl to clean!

This is the same recipe I've been making for many years. Every time I make it it gets devoured instantly. Absolutly the best. The only thing I do differently is to put the shredded cheese on right after the sour cream layer. Then I layer on the tomatoes, olives, and onions. I think it's prettier this way.

This is great dip! I brought it to a baby shower. I made refried beans from scratch for the bottom layer. For the avocado layer, I substitued 2 TBS lime juice instead for the lemon juice and added 2 TBS minced onion, 1 clove minced garlic, and 1/2 of a minced jalepeno along with the salt and pepper. The dip was devoured.
