Best Homemade Pizza Sauce

When fresh tomatoes are plentiful nothing makes your house smell any better than simmering a big pot of sauce on the stove. This is a big hit with my family!

1 1/2 quarts (change servings and units)

    Cook tomatoes, onions and green pepper until soft.
  2. 2
    You may choose to mill it if you don't like the tomato seeds.
  3. 3
    Add garlic, red pepper, oregano, basil and salt.
  4. 4
    Simmer until well blended and thickened, 2-3 hours (maybe more).
  5. 5
    Mix sugar, margarine and flour into a paste.
  6. 6
    Stir into tomato mix.
  7. 7
    This sauce freezes well!
