Simplest Korean Beef Stew

Quick and easy, freezes well, this is one of those dishes that gets better as it gets re heated.....

SERVES 8 , 8 servings (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Heat large casserole and saute ginger in oil.

    Add the onions till soft then the garlic.
  3. 3
    Stir well till fragrant,.
  4. 4
    Dump in the beef spareribs and stir fry till beef changes color.
  5. 5
    In a large bowl, mix soy, sugar, wine,sesame oil, chili garlic sauce and hot water.

    Mix till well blended.

    Pour to beef.
  8. 8
    Let simmer on low fire for 1 hour till 1 1/2 hours.

    Add in toasted sesame seeds and chopped leeks last 10 mins of cooking.

    Serve on top of piping hot rice.

This is included in our regular meal rotation, can kick it up a notch by adding more chili-garlic sauce. Word of caution: You will be eating plenty of rice with it.

    uuummm uuummm! Had this for dinner tonight, It was terrific, cooked it till it fell off the bone, the flavor and smell was wonderful! My Chinese guests raved about it, so thank you very much! Followed it EXACTLY and it came out peeerfect!

    Wow! This is authentic Korean beef stew! I used short ribs and it was fantastic! Followed the recipe to the letter. I don't like it sweet and this came out perfect with a little kick from the chili garlic sauce, will add 1t more as i like it spicyyy! Great recipe! thanks for posting!
