Nigella's Croissant Pudding

Something you can make when unexpected visitors come unannounced! Its a staple in our home. Gooey and Yummy!

SERVES 2 -4 , 4 servings (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Pre-heat oven to 350.

    Tear croissant pieces to shreds.
  3. 3
    Put in a small baking dish.
  4. 4
    Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, put sugar and water.
  5. 5
    Swirl around to dissolve sugar until caramelized and turns deep amber in color.
  6. 6
    It will take 3 to 5 minutes.

    Take off from heat and pour in cream.
  8. 8
    Add in bourbon and milk.
  9. 9
    Keep whisking.

    Add beaten eggs till blended together.
  11. 11
    Pour this quickly over croissant and leave to steep for 10 minutes.

    Bake in oven for 20 minutes.

    You can top the pudding with vanilla ice cream if desired.

    Sooooo delightfully sinful!

    I saw this recipe by Nigella in Foodnetwork and tried it several times already. It's great but sub it with low fat milk and light cream. Plus no bourbon so added kahlua instead. Taste of heaven really but BEST eaten when warm with vanilla ice cream. Not so good when cold. Thanks for posting.
