Ever since my honeymoon in Italy, I am always looking for authentic Italian dishes. This was very good. The sauce was scrumptious. I made it in a 15 x 10 glass baking dish. I had enough sauce and ricotta for 4 layers. Before I tasted this, I was suspicious of the black olives. They were great, though! Also, when I made this, I bought 9 oz. olives, 16 oz parmesean and asiago cheese. Next time, I won't do that. I will measure the olives and cheese in a measuring cup rather than using the equivalent in ounces.
