This is a lovely simple recipe for traditional cinnamon tea as it is drunk in Sudan. You can reduce / increase the servings easily also. Posted for ZWT 4.

SERVES 4 , 4 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place 4 cups of boiling water in a tea pot with the tea & allow to brew for a few minutes then stir.
  2. 2
Place 1 cinnamon stick & 1 sugar lump in a tea cup & pour the tea slowly over them.
  3. 3
Serve with an additional bowl of sugar lumps for guests to add if they like. (You may also add a cinnamon stick to the tea pot whilst the tea is brewing for a stronger cinnamon flavour).

yummyyyyy! I love cinnamon drinks, and I never tried english tea before (I normally drink green tea), so this was a treat! I do have a sweet tooth, especially during Ramadan, so I did add just a hair more sugar, but other than that this was great! Thanks Um Safia!

Very nice! I used green tea and scaled it down for one person. Thanks! Made for ZWT4-Fancy Feinschmeckers!

Made with 1/2 Rooibos tea and English. Steeped with the cinnamon stick for 1 minute with just boiling water. Served with lemon. This would be wonderful on ice as well. Thanks!
