    Dip mushrooms into egg.

    Coat with bread crumbs.

    Cook mushrooms and onion in butter in skillet, turning occasionally, until mushrooms are tender and golden brown. 7 - 8 minutes.

What's not to love about this dish!! I love breaded mushrooms,and this certainly made a change from deep frying them,with the added bonus of a lovely buttery taste.I used homemade crumbs straight out of the freezer,and they adhered beautifully to the mushrooms,with just a few escaping when I turned them in the pan.A triumph!!Made for PRMR.

    Easy enough to make and a nice side dish. My breading didn't stick well to all of the mushrooms, but they tasted good anyway. Made for ZWT4.

    These were delicious! I love mushrooms and pan frying them with breadcrumbs only makes them that much better. I used 3 egg whites in place of the egg because I had them leftover from another recipe I prepared. My coating stayed on fairly well, but even the coating that did fall off was delicious after being browned with the butter and onions. A quick and easy snack or side dish! Made for the Aussie/New Zealand Recipe Swap #20.
