Filet-O-Fish

A copycat of the Filet O fish sandwich found at the golden arches, The sandwich was introduced by a McDonald's franchise in Cincinnati, Ohio, in response due to the Catholic practice of not eating meat on Fridays.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, minced onion, salt and set aside. This is your tartar sauce.

    Lightly grill the faces of the buns.
  3. 3
    Cook the fish according to the package instructions. You can bake

    the fish, but your sandwich will taste much more like the original
  5. 5
    if you fry it in oil.
  6. 6
    Divide the tartar sauce and spread it evenly on each of the top buns.
  7. 7
    Place a slice of cheese on each of the bottom buns.
  8. 8
    Place the cooked fish on top of the cheese slice on.
  9. 9
    each sandwich, and top off the sandwiches with the top buns.

This is the only thing I like at McDonalds besides the french fries. I decided to make some at home, and was glad to stumble across this recipe. Although Mrs. Pauls isn't the exact fish they use at McDonalds this was a good sandwich! We really enjoyed them along with some homemade french fries!
