I don't recall where I got this from, but they are quick and easy and the kids think they are super cool.

SERVES 24 , 24 cupcakes (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Ice cupcakes with green frosting.
  2. 2
Slice gumdrops in half (Note: If you have a Lammes Candies around you, they also have these green sours you can buy in bulk that work if you cannot find gumdrops).
  3. 3
Push one white chocolate chip piece into the bottom edge of the sticky part of the gumdrop, you want the point of the chip to stick in there.
  4. 4
Place gumdrops on cupcake like the frog's eyes and use the black icing to make a dot for the pupil.
  5. 5
Note: You can also use blue frosting and have it look like the frog is coming out of the water.

These were fun to make and a hit with my niece!! Had problems with my icing as it was soooo humid - but the kids still thought they were cute!! Used my Lemon Yogurt Cupcakes for cupcakes. Thanks!

So fun!! My DD and I made this for her best friend's birthday. The BF adores frogs and loved her cupcakes!! In a kid magazine, we saw a similar cupcake with the icing being blue so it looked like the frog's eyes were peeking out of the water. Also a cute idea! I had to buy large gumdrops so I sliced each one in half and used the cut side for the front of the eyes. It worked really well. The cupcakes were Super Moist Chocolate Mocha Cake. Thanks for sharing a such a fun recipe!

Brilliant! Made these for the kid's table at our annual "Welcome Summer" picnic. (Which we hold at our family farm, complete with a pond filled with bullfrogs) I used candy spearmint leaves (cut in half) instead of the gumdrops and chocolate jimmy sprinkles instead of decorating gel (held on with a smidgen of white frosting. Oh, and used green foil cupcake liners too! Fabulous!! Huge hit for the kids and adults alike. Thanks for this cute, cute recipe!
