Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole (Copy)

Recipe #303618 | 1 hour | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Chef Chöich
May 14, 2008

A few years ago I was looking for the real deal and found a website that I had to pay $2.50 to download a copy of the famous casserole's recipe. I still use this recipe til this day and have friends ask for it and receive kudos everytime I make it.

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Melt butter or margerine and mix in milk, broth, salt, pepper, and onion in large measuring cup or bowl. In large skillet heat hashbrowns and fold in shredded cheese until melted. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare 9x13 baking dish or pan. Put hashbrown cheese mixture into prepared pan and pour other ingredients in and fold until hashbrowns swell in most of the liquid. Spoon the hashbrowns flat and place in oven to bake for 45 minutes.

This is by FAR the best recipe on RecipeZaar for the Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole. I have tried other recipes that call for the canned soups and we think they taste NOTHING like the real thing. My husband is a Cracker Barrel freak so we eat there often and this recipe is DEFINATELY the closest! Wonderful flavor, easy to make and leaves everyone satisfied and happy!! THANKS for the great recipe!!

This recipe is awesome! I had everything I needed on hand except for colby cheese. I used chedder instead, and it was still great. I make sure I have colby on hand all the time now. Thanks for sharing!
