Ingredients

  • 2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • cups half-and-half or light cream
  • cups ginger ale
  • cup apple cider
  • tablespoons apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • teaspoon apple pie spice
  • cup frozen Cool Whip, thawed
  • tablespoons brown sugar
  • tablespoons white sugar
  • tablespoons ground walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • tablespoon melted butter or margarine

      In container of an electric blender, blend pie filling until smooth. In a large.

      saucepan, combine pureed apple pie filling, half and half, ginger ale, 1 cup cider, brown sugar and apple pie spice.Mix well.

      Simmer over low heat until mixture is steamy,but do not boil. Mix cool whip with remaining 2 tablespoons apple cider.Set aside.

      Streusel Topping:In a small bowl,combine brown sugar, white sugar,walnuts and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter; mix until mixture is crumbly.

      Pour hot apple mixture into mugs. Top each serving with a dollop of cool whip mixture and a sprinkling of streusel topping.
