Pigs Beer Biscuits

Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup chilled shortening (i prefer lard)
• 1 (12 ounce) bottle of flat beer

Directions

   1. combine flour.sugar.and salt in a large bowl.

   2. add the shortening or lard.and cut into dry ingredients with a fork

   or your hands.

   3. flat beer -- beer that has lost it's fizz -- works best! otherwise

   just let the beer get to room temperature.add 1/2 to 3/4 cup to mix.

   4. knead the dough just enough to blend -- over mixing will make it

   tough.

   5. flour a flat surface and spread the dough to a one inch thickness.

   6. cut your biscuits out.

    7. bake at 425 for about 10 mins or until brow.
