Coffee Drop Cookies

This great little drop cookie is from Household Searchlight cookbook, and a recipe that I grew up making...it was the first recipe I was ever given free reign of the kitchen with...they are great with cold milk or a cup of hot coffee or cocoa.

SERVES 36 , 36 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. 2
    Add beaten egg.
  3. 3
    Mix thoroughly.
  4. 4
    Sift Flour, measure and sift with baking soda, salt, baking powder and spices.
  5. 5
    Add Alternately with coffee to shortening/sugar mixture.
  6. 6
    Add raisins, nuts and flavoring.
  7. 7
    Mix thoroughly.
  8. 8
    Add additional flour if necessary to make a drop cookie dough.
  9. 9
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well oiled baking sheet.
  10. 10
    Make in moderate oven (400 degrees F.) about 15 minutes -- 36 servings.

I chose to surprise my DH this morning by making them for him. These are different but yet very good. Very easy to make! The next time I make them I will add coconut to ours, my DH favorite. Thanks for posting this recipe for us to try. My DH loved them~
