Recipe #298749 | 35 min | 15 min prep | SERVES 6 , 6 cups (Change Servings)

RECIPE BY: Lunaraven_psi

I got this from Kraft.com and the family REALLY loves it. My teenager who works at Mc Donalds was mad at me for making it when he had to work! LOL

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces kraft deluxe macaroni & cheese dinner mix
  • cups water
  • lb ground beef
  • 1 1/4 ounces taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • cup salsa
  • cup chips, crushed
  • Directions

    1. 1
      Preheat oven to 400°F.
    2. 2
Boil the macaroni in 6 cups or more of water until done.
    3. 3
While Macaroni cooks, brown the hamburger meat and drain.
    4. 4
When the macaroni is tender mix in the cheese sauce
    5. 5
Add taco seasoning mix and water to meat and simmer 5 minute.
    6. 6
Stir sour cream into the macaroni dinner.
    7. 7
Spoon half the macaroni mixture into an 8 or 9 inch pan.
    8. 8
      Top with Taco Meat.
    9. 9
Top with 1 cup of the cheese.
    10. 10
      Top with remaining macaroni mixture.
    11. 11
      Bake 15 minute.
    12. 12
Top with remaining cheese, salsa, and chips.
    13. 13
      Bake 5 minute.
    14. 14
*note 1 any Macaroni will do but it really needs to be one of the creamy kind like velveeta shells or macaroni deluxe.
    15. 15
*note 2 The best crushed chips I have found to use for that taco taste is Chili cheese fritos.
    16. 16
*note 3 You can add in any vegetables you want in the layers to make it a complete meal.
