Grandma's Chocolate Layer Cake

This is from my old betty crocker cook book for boys and girls!

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 350°F Grease two 8-inchor 9-inch pans.

    Sift together the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3
    Add shortening, milk and vanilla extract.
  4. 4
    Beat vigorously for 2 minutes by hand or use a electric mixer on medium speed.
  5. 5
    Add the other 1/3 cup of milk and the eggs.
  6. 6
    Beat for another 2 minutes.
  7. 7
    Pour into pans and bake immediately for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool. Frost.
