This technique is fun to get the kids involved. This gives the bacon a slight different texture. Crisp yet chewy. For a little added smokiness and heat do try this method with Oven Cooked Bacon With Black Pepper and Brown Sugar. Easy clean up!!!!!!

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. 2

  4. 4

I thought this was yummy! DH and DS didn't care for it, but they don't care for "sweet" meat flavorings. Too bad for them! I got to eat it all myself! And I love cooking bacon in the oven cuz I hate the mess it makes on the stove.

We really liked this recipe. The bacon had a great flavor and was a snap to bake in the oven, This is how I will cook bacon from now on.

We thought these had a very good flavor to them. I did eyeball the pepper and brown sugar and think I may have used a good amount more brown sugar than it called for. However after the 15 minute cooking time these were no where near done! They were still mostly raw. So I just kept cooking and draining every ten minutes for a total of 40 minutes. At this point they still had some chewyness, but were at least dark brown all over and some crispiness too. The ends did burn a tiny bit, but nothing we would have worried about. Loved the easy clean-up!
