Crock Pot Chops That Will Make You Eat Til You Pop!

Recipe #29544 | 6¼ hours | 10 min prep | SERVES 4 (Change Servings)

RECIPE BY: Malriah

These have to be, hands down, the BEST meal I have EVER made in a crock pot. I borrowed a friend's crock pot one weekend and made this for my honey. Low and behold, I got a crock pot for my next birthday along with a request for this recipe to be the first thing I made. I really wish I know where I got the recipe from because I would LOVE to give credit for it. I beg of you, do yourself a favor and try this. You will NOT regret it. Let me know what you think!!

My husband thoroughly enjoyed it, and he's the real cook in the family. My 4 year old loved it as well. Myself, I wasn't as impressed. Perhaps, after reading the reviews, I was expecting a major "WOW!" taste. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I honestly thought if there were pineapples in it, it would have been like most of the chinese pork meals I've had. We served over white rice. I would cook this again for my family.

We loved this recipe. I bought pre-prepped chopped onions & peppers, threw them in with the rest of the stuff, and this was quite possibly the easiest dinner I've ever made... and it was incredibly tasty with tender pork. It is a definite keeper. I think people must be looking for some kind of 5-star restaurant gourmet stuff when they rank this low. I don't know, but the simplicity to taste ratio is unbeatable here. I didn't use the celery. I also cooked it for 5 hours then put in the cornstarch for another 30. My crock pot is fast, and I miscalculated dinnertime. (I am very bad about not reading ahead... thought it was to be done in 5.5 lol)

I don't know how this recipe is rated like it is, could it be an internet hoax? My wife and co-workers found this recipe out here where her co-worker has had good luck. I registered as a user to warn others about this catastrophe. It's basically a non-BBQer's weak attempt at BBQ. With ketchup, the cider was too much and the cornstarch was a thickening shortcut instead of reducing the sauce down. You'd really be better off buying your favorite BBQ sauce, sautee some veggies and throw them all in crockpot together with some chops. Don't waste your time and ingredients - I really can't comprehend the good reviews.

Yummy! It's hard to find a recipe that makes good pork chops, but this is one! And better yet, it's a dump-and-go! I didn't do the onions or green peppers, we don't like them. I think I'll just add regular tomatoes next time because we didn't like the "peppery" (per hubby) taste the stewed tomatoes gave. Most of my changes are weird ones that most people wouldn't do, but that's just us. All other components gave it a really good flavor. My husband liked it, and he went back for seconds!
