Delicious comfort food. Sausages in a rich tomato sauce on a bed of spiral pasta, covered in cheese and baked.

Ingredients

  • large sausage
  • 375 g spiral shaped pasta
  • medium onion
  • slices bacon, rindless
  • teaspoons garlic
  • 800 g canned tomato, crushed
  • teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 cup fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
  • tablespoon olive oil
  • cups water
  • 100 g cheddar cheese
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • Directions

      Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.

      In a large pan, add water and heat until boiling.
    3. 3
      Add pasta and cook until just soft.
    4. 4
      Drain and place in heat proof oven dish.
    5. 5
      Fry sausages until cooked. Place on aborbent paper to soak up excess fat.

      Chop onions and bacon and fry over medium heat with garlic until onions are cooked (to liking).

      Cut sausages into bite sized pieces (remove skin if needed).

      Add sugar and canned tomatoes and sausage pieces to frying pan.

      Simmer for about 10 minutes.

      Add parsley.

      Poor over pasta.

      Grate chedda and parmesan cheese over pasta dish.

      Place in oven for about 20 minutes.

      Serve.
