Grilled Corn

this is the best way we like to have corn on the cob. the corn finishes cooking in the butter and seasoning, instead of adding them afterwards. it's also really easy to prepare as a side dish at a bbq, since you can do all the prep. ahead of time, and then just place them on the grill. we use greek seasoning, but i have used a variety of spices, be adventurous!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 4 ears corn on the cob (the frozen kind, if you want to use fresh, pre-boil until done)
  • butter, set out until softened

seasoning of your choice

Directions

    light grill, you want a medium fire.
  2. 2
    thaw corn.
  3. 3
    cut approx 6 inches sheets of aluminum foil.
  4. 4
    coat ears of corn with softened butter.
  5. 5
    shake seasoning on each ear of corn.
  6. 6
    wrap each ear of corn in a foil sheet.
  7. 7
    place on grill, and grill for approximately 30-45 minutes over indirect heat.

We had a cookout in the backyard yesterday and had this corn. I steamed the corn using Shirley's Perfect Corn on the Cob Every Time! recipe. It wasn't watery at all. This method really works! Along with the butter I seasoned with salt, lemon pepper and the Greek seasoning. We grilled them and they were done in about 35 minutes. Everyone was licking their chops waiting for this one! Excellent grilled corn Bratty!

    Yummy, thanks. The only thing was the corn got a little soggy--however, that is more than likely due to either the crop or me boiling too long? Thanks for the great idea!!

    Wonderful! This is such an easy way to prepare frozen corn. We've always just boiled them, but I like being able to cook them alongside our steaks on the grill. I didn't have any Greek seasoning, but they still tasted good. I plan on finding some of that seasoning though!! Thanks so much for posting this!!

    So simple, so convenient, so delicious! I parboiled fresh from the garden corn for 7 minutes, seasoned with salt, lemon pepper & butter, then sat back with a beer while it grilled. I allowed the full 45 minutes but will reduce to 30 next time. Thanx bratty!
