Chinese Beef With Broccoli

Beef with Broccoli is a famous stir fry Chinese dish. Almost all restaurants serve this. I got this recipe from my mom. Everyone in our family just loves her cooking and it tastes just like the ones we buy from the Chinese restaurants. This is actually very quick to make after the marinating time.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    pound sliced meat strips with the back of the knife until tender. set aside.
  2. 2
    combine cornstarch and rice wine.
  3. 3
    add and marinate meat with cornstarch and wine mixture for at least 30mins.
  4. 4
    combine Kikkoman soy sauce and sugar. set aside.
  5. 5
    in the meantime, cut the broccoli into small florets, cutting the small stems diagonally; discard the big stalk.

    heat oil in wok in medium flame.
  7. 7
    stir fry marinated beef, keep stirring until it changes color, but only until it's half done (half color),.

    add onions and the kikkoman with sugar mixture.

    then add the broccoli and oyster sauce, keep stirring for 5 mins or until cooked while adding also a pinch of baking soda to the broccoli.

    then add 1/4 cup water and stir fry for another minute.

    Serve warm.

With recipes like this one - who needs to go out. This is better then any I have ever had at a restaurant - and I have had some good ones! Followed instructions with great results. Thank you and thank your mom for sharing a great tasting stir fry recipe - one that was enjoyed and will be made again - and again.

    Really great recipe for beef and broccoli. Cooked up perfectly and it was very easy to make. I used a london broil which I sliced thin. Keeper recipe!!

    Wonderful! I made this for Little Miss (DD). Hubby is working away and I don't eat red meat and she said it was delicious. It only took me about five minutes to prepare all the ingredients, 30 minutes to marinate the meat, and the rest was easy to put together. Great instructions. Thank you Pneuma

    This is a nice recipe - easy to throw together and has a nice presentation. I didn't add the sugar and it still had a bit of sweetness to it. Next time I'll add some red pepper flakes and unsalted peanuts or sliced almonds. Thanks for sharing!
