Whenever you need pizza quick, this is the recipe to go for! It is not a traditional yeast dough crust...it actually starts out with a batter that turns into a crust. It is extremely easy to prepare, very good and you could probably have it done and on your table before the pizza parlor could

8 slices (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. 2
Grease and flour a pizza pan or 10 x 15 baking sheet (with sides).
  3. 3
Combine flour, salt, oregano, pepper, eggs and milk and mix well.
  4. 4
Pour batter in pan and tilt pan around until bottom of pan is evenly coated.
  5. 5
Sprinkle the cooked meat, onions and mushrooms over the batter.
  6. 6
    Bake for 20 minutes.
  7. 7
Remove from oven and drizzle on pizza sauce.
  8. 8
    Sprinkle evenly with cheese.
  9. 9
Bake for about 5 more minutes, or until cheese is bubbling.
  10. 10
    Slice and serve!

I was another skeptic but my DH loved loved loved this pizza!! I baked the crust alone with no toppings for 20 minutes. Then I added italian sausage, olives, onions, and colby jack cheese. Then I baked it another 23-30 minutes because I was trying to get all the edges golden brown. The middle never got as crispy as the edge, but it was not unpleasant at all. To the crust I also added a bunch of dried basil. I made my own spaghetti sauce by mixing a can of tomato sauce with a bunch of italian herbs and it was perfect. Will make this again and again. Next up is a chicken BBQ pizza with this crazy crust!

Oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Never make pizza at home because I don't want to mess w/the crust. I used 1/4 c of wheat flour instead of all white flour, added fresh basil in the crust. Only had egg beaters, so I had to use those in place of the eggs. The sky is the limit on ingredients here. I sauted some onions and green and red bell peppers along with a can of mushrooms. My meat was turkey bacon and pepperoni. I made my own pizza sauce from a can of tomato sauce and topped it with an italian cheese blend. I served it with a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes and parmesean. My dh then adds his favorite topping of worchestershire (salsa ingles s/p?) Thanks for this keeper. I will be passing this along to my pizza loving friends.

I've been making this for years. It's very good and very easy. But I pour the crust into a 8*11.5 pan. And instead of flouring the pan, I sprinkle corn meal into it after spraying.

I scaled the recipe to 2 servings cooked it in a 8" round cake pan and made my own personal pan pizza. I added garlic powder, onion powder and pizza seasoning to the mix. I used a ton of red and green peppers, banana peppers and red onions. It was delish. A definate repeat, I can't wait to make it for my husband. I have been looking for a lower calorie pizza crust and I have found it! Thanks a bunch for posting!
