Life saver! I was having Memorial Day and needed cole slaw but my store was out of the jarred dressing I usually used. I bought the bagged cole slaw anyway and hoped to make my own. KFC's a big favorite around here so this recipe was a no brainer. I didn't have buttermilk so I used the old standby of souring the milk with vinegar. The only other change I did was to add a tiny bit more lemon juice. I made the dressing the day before and added it to the coleslaw that morning. As for the one reviewer who thought it had too much liquid, cabbage will get "weepy" and the only way to solve that is to salt it ahead of time and let the water be released. Then you'ld have to rinse the cabbage well and it's just not worth the trouble. Just stir it well before serving.

Holy Smokes!!!! This is exactly like KFC's cole slaw. Only mistake I made was trying to eat it right after I made it. It was good but didn't taste like KFC. I let it sit in the fridge overnight and wallah, all the juices soaked into the cabbage and the rest is history. What a recipe, I'll be making this for the family and functions in the future.
