Baked Apples

A slightly different twist on baked apples. Found this old magazine clipping in my recipe file.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Cut a slice from the top of each apple.
  2. 2
    Core the apples.
  3. 3
    Carefully remove the apple pulp, leaving a shell approximately 1/2-in. thick.
  4. 4
    Chop the pulp and mix with granola and brown sugar.
  5. 5
    Spoon mixture into apple shells.
  6. 6
    Bake, covered, for 25 minutes and 400 degrees.
  7. 7
    Uncover and bake 10-15 minutes more.
  8. 8
    Serve with sour cream or yogurt.
