This recipe gives 24 big cookies. This recipe comes from the tv show A la Di Stasio.

SERVES 24 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven at 350°F In a double-boiler, melt the first quantity of chocolate (7 ounce) and butter at low heat.
  2. 2
With a mixer, beat eggs, sugar and brown sugar for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and beat well.
  3. 3
Add melted chocolate and beat 1 minute.
  4. 4
Sift the dry ingredients. Add to the chocolate mixture. Add the chopped chocolate and nuts. Fold delicately.
  5. 5
On a baking sheet with parchment paper, put 2 tablespoon of mixture, leaving 1 1/2 inch between each cookies. Flatten lightly.
  6. 6
Bake in the third part of the oven 9 to 11 minutes. The sides will be crunchy and the center still soft. Don’t cook the cookies too much because they will keep on cooking out of the oven, that way they will stay soft when cold. Let them cool a little bit before touching them, then cool completely on a rack.

Anyone making these should be arrested because these cookies are criminally good. It will be truly hard to eat one and not want to hide the rest from friends, family and neighbors. I made mine with freshly toasted hazelnuts which worked well here. At 9 minutes the cookies were still a little soft as in uncooked gooey. Another minute and they were just right. I personally liked the second batch which was placed on a slightly warm sheet as they spread a bit more and the exterior was a bit more like the top of a brownie. Nonetheless both batches were divine. Made for the Game Room's *Spring Spectacular*.

Thanks for a great recipe! I might even add craisins next time.
