This is a delicious dish out of the Weight Watchers cookbook called "Cook it Quick". Try this recipe and see whether you don't agree that a small amount of butter is the perfect carrier for herbs.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Cook the linguine according to package diretions.
  2. 2
    Drain and put in a serving bowl.
  3. 3
    Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small nonstick skillet.
  4. 4
    Add the parsley, basil, thyme, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper.
  5. 5
    Reduce the heat and cook until the herbs wilt.
  6. 6
    Discard the garlic.
  7. 7
    Pour the herbed butter over the linguine and toss to coat.
  8. 8
    Serve immediately.

This was awesome!! I made it last night and absolutely loved it. My 15 y/o was nervous about the green from the herbs, but he loved it too. It passed the teen boy taste test.

    mmmmm. I make pasta with just butter, salt, and pepper often. This recipe is similar, but with added fresh herbs. Your recipe adds elegance, aroma, and more flavor to a very simple dish making this a nice company worthy dish for those on a budget.

    We love herbs! We loved this! the taste was full in your face herb freshness ( ok, I did use more herbs than were called for in the recipe becuase I had a whole heap to hand) This dissapeared rather quickly ! Please see my rating system: 4 wonderful stars for a lovely recipe that was so easy to make on a busy weekday evening. Thanks!
