"call the Fire Department" Hot Wings

Recipe #27200 | 1¼ hours | 45 min prep | add private note
Kim D.

By: Kim D.
May 3, 2002

My family loves hot wings! After several attempts of trying to re-create the restaurant hot wings, I finally came up with this recipe which my whole family seems to approve. My husband thinks they could be hotter, but then again, he adds red pepper flakes to most of his food. The kids and I think they are hot enough, but add even more Tabasco if you wish!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a bowl, combine flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper; mix.
  2. 2
Rinse off wings and coat in flour mixture.
  3. 3
Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and place wings on baking sheet.
  4. 4
    Preheat oven to 375°F.
  5. 5
Bake wings for 40 minutes, turning once 1/2 way through cooking.
  6. 6
While wings are baking, combine butter, Frank's hot sauce, and Tabasco in a plastic bowl with lid.
  7. 7
Once wings are finished baking, place 8-10 wings in the bowl.
  8. 8
    Cover and shake to coat.
  9. 9
    Serve with Ranch Dressing!

I'm not sure why internetnut would make wings called "call the fire department hot wings" for children, it seems to have influenced her review! This recipe turned out great for me! Very nicely spiced and the wings came out lightly crisp and tasty! Thanks for posting this great recipe, Kim D. It's a keeper at my house (my BF REALLY loved these!).

The way your wings taste makes my burnt finger worth the effort. They came out spicy and juicy and so addictingly each time I cooked them. Thanks so much for sharing this. <3
