Recipe #271436 | 20 min | 10 min prep | add private note

Dog treats/biscuits that are safe & easy to make! Can improve bad breath. I have been told to make & sell these. Enjoy, I know all of the dogs that have tried these have! We usually use cookie cutters for fun shapes.

SERVES 24 -48 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 425 deg.
  2. 2
Using a mixer; combine flour, baking powder & soda in the bowl.
  3. 3
Add shortening slowly and process until it resembles cornmeal.
  4. 4
Add yogurt and mix until combined.
  5. 5
Add honey & parsley and mix through.
  6. 6
Roll out for even cooking. Can use cutters for shapes or just cut into bars.
  7. 7
Place on cookie sheet & bake 10-14min, or until they start to brown.
  8. 8
Allow to come to room temp then place in airtight containers &/or refrigerate.
  9. 9
Will last at room temp for approx 6 days, keep in fridge for longevity.
  10. 10
I recommend 1/2" by 1" bars for small & med dogs or 1" by 2" for large breeds. Even smaller pieces are great for training!

These dog treats were very easy to make and were enjoyed by my furry friends! I have 3 pups of various sizes and ages and all loved these treats and wanted more. They did seem to provide at least a temporary breath fix - thanks for sharing your recipe!
