Corn Chowder

If you like corn chowder, you'll love this one. Given to me by my mother-in-law. It is one of my DH's favorites.

SERVES 20 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    In a 4qt saucepan melt the butter.

    Add the onion and cook slowly for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  3. 3
    Add potatoes and water.
  4. 4
    Cover and cook till potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes).

    Add all other ingredients.
  6. 6
    Heat slowly, do not boil (it will boil over if left unatended).
  7. 7
    Add more salt and pepper to taste if desired.
  8. 8
    Serve with crackers (Ritz, chowder or oyster crackers).

    It freezes well :).
