A Christmas open house staple. This punch is wonderful...but it's a killer.

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    In a small saucepan, combine cinnamon sticks, cloves, and water. Cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer about 30 minutes. Strain. Discard spices.

    In a 4-quart pan, combine spiced water with remaining ingredients, except orange slices. Heat over medium-low heat. DON'T boil.
  3. 3
    Serve in a punch bowl or from copper stock pot. Garnish top of punch with slices.
