This is the perfect mojito for me. Deceptively smooth. Sometimes I'll cut the spent lime shells in half and add a couple of pieces to the drink for visual effect.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Muddle 2-3 sprigs of mint with the sugar in the bottom of a 16 ounce glass.
  2. 2
    Stir in the rum.
  3. 3
Squeeze the lime and add the juice to the glass, straining out any pulp.
  4. 4
Add the club soda and stir gently.
  5. 5
Add ice to fill the glass and stir again.
  6. 6
Garnish with sugar cane and serve.

Great recipe! We cut down on the sugar just a bit though, as our first ones were a bit too sweet for us. Made for the Tastebud Tickling Travellers, ZWT4

We could not forget this traditional mojito as part of our girls' mojito night. I decreased the rum (so many to try, didn't want to over do it!) Decreased the sugar a little and still loving it! I plan to have more mojito nights in the future. I got a nice start of a mint plant from my MIL (she probably thinks I want to make tea! wink wink) and so I will be armed and ready to make more of these. Made for my Babes for ZWT4. Thanks!

This was refreshing but I liked the bottom of the drink better then the top. Top was a little strong and the bottom was just right. I think the next one I make I'll also add some simple syrup so the sweetness is distributed through out the drink. Thank you for posting Sue, this is my second mojito I've tried. I made this for Zaar World Tour 4 2008 the Wild Card round South and Central America I'm playing on the team Tastebud Tickling Travelers Go team go!
