Bitter Lemon

Recipe #26863 | 30 min | 15 min prep | SERVES 4 (Change Servings)

RECIPE BY: Mille® ™

This is a British cousin of American lemonade. Makes an excellent mixer for gin, vodka, and tequila. Personally, I like it mixed with tonic water or soda water and poured over crushed ice on a hot summer day.

I am so happy to find this!! I haven't made it yet and will add stars when I do, but my favorite soda from childhood was Schwepp's Bitter Lemon, which was difficult to find then and impossible now. I should have known that Miller would have had a solution for me, clever guy that he was.

Great drink, you can buy it in Waitrose for about 50p a bottle... but making it's much more fun!

This is how I make my own lemonade, and my husband says that it is too sour. I think that it is yummy, my father used to put the lemon peels in the jug and let it brew in the sun for a day. That makes it very strong.

Very easy to make. Definitely is a bitter lemon taste so kids may not like it. But if you like a bitter twist this is excellent.
