Cider Heaven (Cider and Rum over Ice)

Recipe #248472 | 3 min | 2 min prep | add private note

I had some cider left from a recipe (FTs 18th century drunken chicken) and a small amount of dark rum. I tried a homemade pina colada with the rum, didn't work--then I poured myself a glass of the hard cider, added rum and fell in love.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Fill glass with ice, old fashioned or the sort in my pic; add the cider and then the rum. Stir, don't shake, sit back and enjoy.
  2. 2
    This is GOOD.

The rum was to strong for me in this drink. Loved the hard cider. But I doctored it and was able to drink it. Made for *1-2-3 Hit Wonders* game 2007

I used Captian Morgan spiced rum and a hard apple cider. One glass was enough to make me woozy! Good taste and perfect for a fall evening.

Just lovely. My typical rum/cider combination has been heated and spiced, which is wonderful, but over ice is just as nice! Thanks for posting!

Sorry MarraMamba but it would be unfair for me to rate this recipe as after trying again I have decided that I really don't like dark rum. Would like to make this again soon with our Australian Bunderburg rum and see if we like it better.
